Welcome to JMTango
Julianne is a dancer, performer, educator, and passionate explorer of movement, connection, and musicality. With a lifelong foundation in dance, music, and athletics, Julianne brings a multidisciplinary approach to Argentine Tango—one that blends precision with play, structure with spontaneity.
Originally based in the United States, Julianne has trained in a variety of movement arts including ballet, contemporary dance, competitive sports, and music education. Her diverse teaching background has shaped her distinct voice as a tango instructor: clear, joyful, and deeply rooted in body awareness. She is particularly drawn to tango’s improvisational essence and the way it turns human connection into art.
Julianne discovered Argentine Tango in 2021 and, after a few initial classes, found herself completely captivated by its conversational movement and creative depth. Since then, she has immersed herself in the world of tango performance, competition, and community building.
Together with her partner MingMing Sun, she co-founded JM Tango, an initiative dedicated to making tango approachable, expressive, and welcoming for dancers of all levels. Through classes, social dances, and curated events, JM Tango aims to nurture a vibrant and inclusive tango culture in Denver and beyond.
Julianne draws on her background in music, athletics, and dance pedagogy to create engaging classes that focus equally on technique, creativity, and joy. She continues to study and explore how movement can be both expressive and empowering, always with a sense of curiosity and care for each dancer’s journey.
